DIXIE PICKINS MARKET!

so DIXIE PICKINS was on the 13th of april- it started out lovely- perfect temperature, wonderful mix of unique vendors...  but we only got half a day in before the storm hit :(
look how beautiful it was!:

 

 

 

 

next market will be may 11.  we are feeling good about attendence and weather and are doing everything we can to promote it- palm beach post, facebook, twitter, pinterest...  and, of course, this blog!

Dixie Pickins Market!!

so we had our last event on saturday, february 2nd and it was a beautiful day!

Dixie Pickins is growing and we also now have a 'likeable' facebook page for our market- check it out!:  DixiePickins

today was all about design... just for me! ♥

yesterday was all about selling on etsy and artfire- and even destashing a bit on ebay- and it literally took me all day to package and get my orders out.  {and a little bit of today, too}.  so, today, i allowed myself to enjoy pinterest and pinned personal things for my home, my husband, and myself!
then, guess what happened when i checked the mail?  my town & country subscription came today!!  it was the icing on the cake.  just wanted to share this with you and maybe inspire you to take a personal day once in a while, too ☺

p.s. because i got to pin all morning, i was a good girl and i {finally} made my dental appointment and looked into a couple long-needed medical appointments as well such as getting a mammogram. 
well, i couldn't be all decadent all day and it's such a relief just to make the appointment, isn't it?
people- don't desert your health, please. 

How to Sanitize your kitchen sponge and make your home smell good, too!

quick tip- lots of us already knew that you can sanitize your kitchen sponge by throwing it in the micro for about a minute.  but, next time, try dripping a few drops of anise on the sponge first.
you will have a lovely smelling home for the rest of the day that will remind you of being somewhere in the mediterranean {you pick the place}!
...it is recommended that you do this at least every 3-4 days- dont forget, it will be hot...

My color of the moment is Gray- it's my New Black.

we did our {not so obviously nautical} bedroom in charcoal and LOVE it more than we even expected to.  
a happy surprise was that, with all our white trims, mouldings, furniture, accents...  a charcoal room stays light and bright and even 'airy', even in a north-facing room!!  {by the way, the hallway is black- for more on that one, see this post: back to the hallway!}
