DIXIE PICKINS MARKET!

so DIXIE PICKINS was on the 13th of april- it started out lovely- perfect temperature, wonderful mix of unique vendors...  but we only got half a day in before the storm hit :(
look how beautiful it was!:

 

 

 

 

next market will be may 11.  we are feeling good about attendence and weather and are doing everything we can to promote it- palm beach post, facebook, twitter, pinterest...  and, of course, this blog!  
really hope you'll be there!!

Tip of the day: frame an open book

frame an open book for instant gorgeous art that you can change as you fancy...  just turn the page to keep it fresh when you're ready for something different!

books are an excellent source of beauty + decor.  of course, you can even use an actual art book to frame something by your favorite artist that you wouldn't normally be able to afford to buy framed as a painting, print, or whatever...

what i did was double up 2 frames for extra drama.  then, we used ours to hide the ugly black cave that is the inside of our fireplace when we're not using it!  what do you think?

thanks to all who came out to the Retro Indie Market 2012 on Saturday, February 11, 2012 and, especially, to those who made it such a wild success for 'johnny's girl' vintage- i literally did not sit down once {and i'm not complaining!}!
