the red carpet begins!

yay for today!  oscar day begins with a continuation of my favorite red carpet pics {continued from here} as more red carpet fashion- past and present- is revealed on E's Countdown To The Red Carpet: The 2014 Academy Awards.  i will do my best to keep up with it and post faves here {no promises, though, as i get so sucked in sometimes i lose all track of everything else!}

fashion friday - red carpet fashion; ready, set, Oscars!

well, it's fashion friday again and this time it's all about red carpet fashion and favorites.  i am SO excited for the oscars this sunday- especially the red carpet- i can't wait to see and get some inspiration...i can hardly contain myself!!!

my all-time favorites for breathtaking style, time after time almost always my faves, are:

kate hudson

cameron diaz

and rihanna

and, of course, my favorite stylist is rachel zoe 

{sorry george!  would love to have you over for some wine, though!}

hope that everyone had a beautiful new year!  here are some photos of how i styled our bash:

i wanted to do only metallics of gold and silver so we made a large mirrored tray out of an old mirrored frame and my husband cut a piece of mirror to fit inside...  we used old trophy cups to hold silverware and such:

i found the word 'cheers' in gold and in a font that i liked on pinterest and i printed it out on ledger sized paper {using my husband's printer so it would be large enough} leaving some of the black background around it so that it would show up better against the mirror.  

p.s. you saw those long gold trumpets?  those were my husband's yard sale find, apparently rare to find them that long anymore {and they still had the tags on them!}.

see those lovely limoges plates?  those were bought at a thrift store that morning for a song {TWO bucks!!  can you believe it??!!} and it came with 9 small plates -in *perfect* condition- a gravy boat with underplate, and a cup + saucer...  by the way, that's 22 carat gold on the rims...

DIXIE PICKINS MARKET!

so DIXIE PICKINS was on the 13th of april- it started out lovely- perfect temperature, wonderful mix of unique vendors...  but we only got half a day in before the storm hit :(
look how beautiful it was!:

 

 

 

 

next market will be may 11.  we are feeling good about attendence and weather and are doing everything we can to promote it- palm beach post, facebook, twitter, pinterest...  and, of course, this blog!
